By now we realize, a silver bullet doesn’t exist to address the many factors contributing to the erosion of the room block. Instead, what we need moving forward is a multitude of strategies. Join us for a discussion on how events strategists will address the shift in the room block climate and how they will rethink everything from their goals, their metrics and whether they’ll need a room block at all.

Christine “Shimo” Shimasaki, CDME, CMP of 2Synergize, LLC is a passionate advocate of the meetings industry and convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs). For the past eight years, Shimo has been a full-time consultant for Destinations International, the trade association for CVBs. During her work for the industry, Shimo managed the empowerMINT initiative, the Event Impact Calculator, authored the Event Room Demand Study, and provided leadership and guidance to the CVB industry with specific meetings market issues and opportunities.
