For the past eight years\, Shimo has been a full-time consultant for Destinations International\, the trade association for CVBs. During her work for the industry\, Shimo managed the empowerMINT initiative\, the Event Impact Calculator\, authored the Event Room Demand Study\, and provided leadership and guidance to the CVB industry with specific meetings market issues and opportunities. \nShimo’s 35-years in the travel industry includes Marriott Hotels & Resorts and the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.
